I am a psychotherapeutic counsellor in advanced training. I offer therapy sessions for adult individuals on both a long and short-term basis.

Perhaps you are coming to therapy because you feel dissatisfied, confused, or overwhelmed by one or several aspects of your life. My intention is to facilitate an environment of warmth and compassion in which you feel safe and supported to explore your experiences, at your own pace. Building a therapeutic relationship together, that you find supportive and ultimately healing, lies at the heart of this process.

I see our work together as a collaborative partnership. You are the focus of our sessions and we will work together at your pace, to make sense of the thoughts, feelings and issues you would like to address. I will seek to listen and support you sensitively and with compassion. At times I may also challenge you, if this seems helpful. Together we will deepen our understanding of how you relate and respond to experiences in your life. This shared listening and awareness can support growth and open up potential for new ways of being and relating.

My approach to counselling is relational, embodied, and integrative (see my website for more info). I am interested in working with a range of issues including: relationship difficulties, self-esteem, grief, anxiety and stress, sense of meaning and purpose, and traumatic experiences.

I am currently working towards qualification and accreditation with the UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) whom I hold membership with. Therefore I am offering reduced rate therapy sessions.

I am in regular supervision, a member of the Disclosure Scotland PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) scheme, and I hold professional indemnity insurance.

About Me

I have a background in fine art, and this informs how I think about and practice therapy; creatively and with an open mind.

I became interested in training as a therapist after being in therapy myself, and because I was (and still am) very curious about what it means to be human. I am interested in connecting with people, and exploring the deeper aspects of our experience, relationships and potential.

I trained for several years at The Minster Centre in London and worked as a therapist for Wandsworth Association of Psychotherapists. I am currently completing my training at Scarborough Counselling and Psychotherapy Institute in Yorkshire.

I live with my partner and our cat in Leith. Outside of my work I enjoy spending time with people I love, playing golf, and practicing yoga.
