Different things bring different people to counselling.

You may know why you are seeking a counsellor at this point - or it may be less clear for you. You may be dealing with a crisis or struggling with a change in your life. You may want to change something but feel unable to do so. You may be at the point where you want support to grow and develop in new ways. Or, you may no longer feel like yourself or just know that something is not right.

The issues people bring to counselling and the answers they find there are as unique as the people themselves.

I provide a safe and non-judgemental space to look at whatever has brought you to look for a counsellor at this time. Whatever you bring, we will explore and make sense of what we discover together. I work in-person and online, and offer both short-term and long-term counselling. I offer a free 30 minute introductory session with a view to meeting regularly for 50 minute sessions at a cost of £50 per session.

My training has qualified me to work as a counsellor using both psychodynamic and person-centred approaches. This means that I will work with you in the belief:

  • that you are the expert on yourself and that - given the right conditions - you will find the answers you need already within you. These conditions include a safe place to explore your experiences free of judgement.

  • that some of the ways you are feeling or relating to others just now are shaped and

influenced by experiences you have had in the past, and that understanding this better can bring about changes in the present.

  • that one path to change lies within the therapeutic relationship we will create as we

collaborate on the issues you bring and goals you have.

I have experienced the benefit that counselling can bring in my own life and understand that making that first step can be difficult. But please email me or look around my website for more information on how I work and the issues that people have brought to our sessions.
